The most important thing is that if the patient has high fever and he is seeing any one of these 6 symptoms, then it should be assumed that he has severe malaria and he should be taken to the hospital immediately. Let’s know about these 6 symptoms.
1. The patient falls down completely listless, i.e. he is not able to even sit. During this time, he goes into a state of mild unconsciousness or coma.
2. Difficulty in breathing or not being able to breathe.
3. Severe anemia and sudden loss of blood.
4. Unconscious convulsions or seizures.
5. Not being able to drink anything and vomiting.
6. Dark and very small amount of urine.
what do the guidelines say
The guidelines say that a patient with fever along with any of these symptoms should get emergency care in the hospital. On the other hand, if the patient is having difficulty in breathing, he should be given antimalarial and antibiotic medicines. Apart from this, if possible, oral treatment can also be given. All the tests of such a patient should be done from laboratory parameters like blood sugar, blood urine, fluid balance, other infections etc. Also, those medicines which can increase gastrointestinal bleeding should not be given.
