Pakistani analysts say that while IMF is giving loan to war-torn Ukraine, it is not getting loan even after repeated begging of Pakistan. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again expressed hope in Turkey that the IMF will restore Pakistan’s program. Even though Shahbaz is holding out hope, experts say that its chances are not visible far and wide. The last deadline for this program is till June only.
IMF is not giving loan because of China!
Analysts said that America has a lot of influence on the IMF and earlier Pakistan used to get loans through one of its calls but now the situation has changed. He said that the increasing proximity of Pakistan and China and the tension between America and China has now become a matter of crisis for Islamabad. IMF is hesitating to give loans because of China. On the other hand, IMF sources say that Pakistan was repaying China’s debt by taking a loan from them, due to which they are not being given money.
Meanwhile, the pressure on the Pakistan government to resume the IMF bailout program has now started showing a negative impact on the country’s global image. Due to this, there has been a big change in the attitude of the friendly countries of Pakistan. Pakistan’s friendly countries like Turkey, China, Saudi Arabia and UAE are also now seen changing their policy. Analysts say that one of the main reasons for this neglect of the IMF towards Pakistan is the political unrest in the country. That is the reason they are not helping and Pakistan is facing an embarrassing situation.
