A heart-wrenching news has come from Goa. The body parts of a newborn have been found in the North district. The police have recovered the body parts of the newborn and registered a case against unknown persons. The police have recovered the body parts (hands and feet) of the newborn which were bitten by animals. The police said that the incident came to light on Saturday late evening when the body parts of the newborn were found near the sluice gate of Mandur-Dongri.
Animals tore away the newborn’s body parts
This crime took place in Agkam police station area. Initial investigation has revealed that the newborn’s body parts were scratched by animals. Police said that hiding the birth of an unknown child and disposing of the body secretly is a crime. A case has been registered in this regard under section 318 of IPC. Further investigation is underway.
Thane: Body of a newborn found in a drain
Last month, the body of a three to four month old infant was found in a drain in Thane district of Maharashtra. On the night of May 6, a passerby found the infant lying in the drain at Vitawa in Kalwa area. After receiving information, police reached the spot and took the child to a local hospital, where doctors declared him dead, Kalwa police station official said. Police registered a case against unknown persons under section 317 (abandonment of child under 12 years of age by parent or caretaker) of the Indian Penal Code and started investigating the matter, he said.
