Share Market : The Indian stock market closed with a big decline today on Tuesday. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s index Sensex closed at 78,956 today with a decline of 0.87 percent i.e. 692 points. At the time of market closing, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 6 stocks were in the green zone and 24 were in the red zone. Whereas, the National Stock Exchange’s index Nifty closed at 24,139 with a decline of 0.85 percent i.e. 208 points. At the time of market closing, out of 50 Nifty stocks, 12 were in the green zone and 38 were in the red zone.
These stocks fell
Among the 50 stocks of the Nifty pack, the biggest losers today were BPCL by 3.54%, HDFC Bank by 3.26%, HDFC Life by 2.78%, Shriram Finance by 2.53% and ONGC by 2.14%. Apart from this, the biggest gainers were Titan by 1.93%, Apollo Hospital by 1.50%, Tata Consumer by 0.86%, Dr. Reddy by 0.78% and HCL Tech by 0.55%.
Shares of public sector banks fell
Talking about sectoral indices, the biggest decline today was recorded in Nifty PSU Bank by 1.81 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Metal fell by 1.75 percent, Nifty Private Bank by 1.17 percent, Nifty Bank by 1.43 percent, Nifty Auto by 0.72 percent, Nifty Financial Services by 1.79 percent, Nifty Financial Services by 1.61 percent, Nifty FMCG by 0.27 percent, Nifty Media by 1 percent, Nifty Pharma by 0.09 percent, Nifty Private Bank by 1.17 percent, Nifty Oil and Gas by 1.22 percent and Nifty Realty by 0.90 percent. On the other hand, if we talk about the rise, Nifty Midsmall Healthcare fell by 0.08 percent, Nifty Consumer Durables by 1.38 percent, Nifty Healthcare Index by 0.06 percent, Nifty IT by 0.01 percent.
