Violence erupted in Bangladesh
After resigning from the post of Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina came to India. Now she is planning to go to London from here. After Hasina left the country, a large number of protesters entered the Ganabhaban (PM residence) in Dhaka on Monday. The protesters created a ruckus in the PM residence and took away many things. Even after Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of PM and left the country, violence in Bangladesh is not decreasing.
135 people lost their lives on Monday
At least 135 people have been killed in Bangladesh on Monday due to police firing, mob beatings and arson across the country, Dhaka Tribune reports. There have been bloody clashes between protesters and leaders and workers of Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League. At least 96 people lost their lives in police firing. 18 people lost their lives in Savar and Dhamrai areas on the outskirts of Dhaka on Monday after clashes between police and rioters. More than 50 people were injured in tear gas and gunfire attacks by police.
Several journalists were shot
Dhaka Tribune quoted locals in its report that several journalists were among those shot. At least 10 people were killed and many others injured in Uttara in the capital on Monday afternoon. In Bangladesh, 37 bodies reached Dhaka Medical College Hospital between 11 am and 8 pm on Monday.
