New Delhi. Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina is currently in India. After a large-scale rebellion in the neighboring country, Hasina fled to Delhi in her country’s army plane, where she first met Ajit Doval. No one knows where she is staying in Delhi. However, this is not the first time that Sheikh Hasina has taken refuge in India. Earlier also, she had taken refuge in Delhi for six years.
Sheikh Hasina had to take refuge in India in 1975 after the situation in Bangladesh deteriorated. Then, at the behest of the army, her then president and father Mujibur Rahman, along with her mother and brothers were killed. When this incident happened, Sheikh Hasina and her sister were in Europe. Hasina and her sister’s family were given refuge by the then PM Indira Gandhi. After which Lajpat Nagar in Delhi became their abode.

A hotel is now running on this property, which earlier belonged to the Kohli family who came from Pakistan. Sheikh Hasina lived in this house with her husband and sister for three years. Later they were shifted to another house on Pandara Road. Hasina took refuge in India for a total of six years. Later this property in Lajpat Nagar was also converted into the Bangladesh Embassy for some time. The old structure remained on this plot till 2003. Later it was converted into a hotel.
The Kohli family had rented out the property. AnyTV India spoke exclusively to Puneet Kohli from their family. It was told that Hasina and her family lived here during her grandfather’s time. At that time, no one knew that she was the daughter of the then President of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
