sheikh hasina
Renowned astrologer Prasanta Kini’s prediction about the downfall of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came true on Monday. Sheikh Hasina resigned from her post on Monday after ruling the country for 15 years. In December 2023, astrologer Kini had warned Sheikh Hasina to be “careful” between May and August 2024, indicating possible “assassination attempts”. His prediction came true and Hasina is no longer in power and has fled the country.
Amid scenes of chaos and violence in Bangladesh on Monday, a tweet from last year by astrologer Kini has resurfaced. “I have already predicted that Sheikh Hasina will be in trouble in August 2024,” Kini wrote on Twitter on Monday.

Sheikh Hasina fled to India after resigning. Reports say she is seeking political asylum in the UK. Bangladesh Army Chief General Wakar-uz-Zaman has announced that the army will form an interim government in the country.
Why did the public become violent in Bangladesh
The unrest, led by student leader Nahid Islam, began in early July as a movement against discriminatory quotas in government jobs but quickly spiraled into a broader anti-government movement. Protesters alleged political manipulation and demanded an end to the controversial quota system that reserved 30 percent of government jobs for descendants of freedom fighters. On Monday, protesters broke down the gate of Sheikh Hasina’s official residence.
Haseena had no choice
Protesters in Dhaka were also seen waving the Bangladeshi flag on top of an armoured vehicle demanding Hasina’s resignation. The situation in Bangladesh remains volatile, with heavy deployment of troops and police in the capital Dhaka. After several weeks of intense protests and demonstrations, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had no choice but to resign.
