Bangladesh is going through a period of unrest
Bangladesh is currently going through a period of unrest. There has been a major political upheaval after violent protests over reservation. Sheikh Hasina has left her country after resigning from the post of Prime Minister. Sheikh Hasina was taking over as Prime Minister for the fifth time after winning the elections held in Bangladesh this year. However, she has been surrounded by difficulties ever since winning the elections. First, there were allegations of rigging in the elections. After this, students protested on the streets for a month over reservation and finally demanded resignation from Sheikh Hasina. Surrendering herself to the protesters, Sheikh Hasina resigned. The situation worsened so much that she had to flee the country. Sheikh Hasina was in power in Bangladesh for 15 years. Sheikh Hasina reached India on Monday evening.
Haseena had claimed murder
‘Foreign interference’ is also being claimed for the circumstances in which Sheikh Hasina left her country. This question is being raised because two months ago in May, Sheikh Hasina had claimed that pressure was being exerted on her from abroad. She had openly said that “conspiracies” were being hatched to topple her government and that she could be assassinated like her father and freedom fighter Sheikh Mujiburahman.
Permission to build an airbase?
Sheikh Hasina had claimed that a country had offered her that if she allowed the construction of an airbase on Bangladesh’s territory, she would be allowed to win re-election without any trouble. Although she did not name any country, she said that she had received this offer from a “white man”. Sheikh Hasina also claimed that there is a conspiracy to carve out parts of Bangladesh and Myanmar to create a Christian country like East Timor.
Who was the “White Man”?
She had said at that time that her government will always be in trouble, but there is no need to worry about it. When she was asked about the “White Man”, she had said that I have clearly told him that I am the daughter of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujiburahman. We have won our liberation war. I do not want to come to power by renting out any part of the country or handing it over to any other country. She had said that she would make Bangladesh a Christian country like East Timor by taking parts of Bangladesh and Myanmar with a base in the Bay of Bengal.
