Narendra Modi will take oath as the Prime Minister in a ceremony organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7:15 pm today. Along with this, discussions are going on about the form of the Modi government and the ministers included in it. PM Modi met his potential cabinet ministers and MPs over tea and snacks on Sunday before the swearing-in ceremony. Most of the leaders who are likely to get a place in the cabinet attended this meeting.
Most of the MPs who will be included in the Modi 3.0 cabinet have already started receiving calls. According to sources, the list of the Council of Ministers includes the names of more than a dozen BJP MPs and more than a dozen from the allies. According to sources, senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh, who won from the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, is likely to remain the Union Defense Minister. At the same time, Amit Shah may remain in charge of the Home Ministry.
Meanwhile, sources said that Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena will not be a part of the NDA government. The saffron party may select new faces for the cabinet of the NDA government, as about 20 of its former ministers have lost the Lok Sabha elections and new vacancies for the Rajya Sabha will not be available soon. Sources said that 10 ministers of the previous cabinet will be re-inducted. In this, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, S Jaishankar, Nirmala Sitharaman, Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goyal, Hardeep Singh Puri and Ashwini Vaishnav will remain Union ministers, while Anurag Thakur may be removed.
