New Delhi. The ICC Champions Trophy is to be held in Pakistan in February 2025 next year. Given the relations between the two countries, there is confusion over the Indian cricket team’s visit to Pakistan. There has been no statement from the BCCI in this regard so far. In such a situation, there is very little possibility that the Indian team will go to Pakistan to participate in the tournament. Meanwhile, a former Pakistani cricketer has made a special appeal to the Indian team and requested them to come to Pakistan to participate in the tournament.
According to the news going on in the media, Shoaib Malik said that we are very good people, we are very hospitable people, so I am sure that the Indian team should definitely come to Pakistan. He said that the differences between India and Pakistan are a separate issue, politics should not come into sports. Last year the Pakistan team went to India and now this is a good opportunity for the Indian team as well. I think there are many players in India who have not played in Pakistan, so this will be a very good opportunity for them as well.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has clearly stated in the draft sent to the ICC that if the Indian team comes to Pakistan, then due to security reasons, all its matches will be held in Lahore only. Along with this, the PCB has also left the decision to convince the Indian team to go to Pakistan to the ICC. On the other hand, the chances of the Indian team going to Pakistan are very less, in such a situation it is possible that the Indian team may not participate in the Champions Trophy. But even if the Indian team participates in the tournament, then it is also possible that India’s matches may not be held in Pakistan but in Sri Lanka or UAE.
