Highest growth in villages
In a report released in this regard, it has been said that due to lack of work in the villages, the unemployment rate of the country has reached a record level in February. If we look at the CMIE data, unemployment in villages has increased by 2.51 percent in February 2022 and it has jumped to 8.35 percent. Whereas, in contrast, the unemployment rate in cities stood at 7.55 per cent last month, which is its lowest level in four months.
was at a high level in May 2021
According to CMIE, in the month of May 2021 last year, the unemployment rate of the country had reached a high level of 11.84 percent. However, after touching this level, there was a decline in it. And at the beginning of the new year i.e. in January 2022, almost half came down to 6.57 percent. After looking at the figures of February, it seems to be increasing again.
This is how the report is prepared
It is worth mentioning that CMIE surveys people above 15 years of age and collects employment status information from them. After this, the unemployment report is prepared on the basis of the results that come out. A month’s unemployment rate of 6.5 means that 65 out of every 1000 people there have no work.
