SI Recruitment 2021 Case: SOG ADG gave information in court, said 'contingency examination was part of the research'

Jaipur. In the case of cancellation of Rajasthan Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment 2021, Additional Director General (ADG) and Special Investigation Team (SIT) V.K. Singh appeared in the court of Justice Sameer Jain. During this time the court held a ‘in-camera’ hearing, in which all except the advocates of both sides were excluded. The purpose and impact of casual examination
The court sought information from ADG Singh about the purpose and impact of the casual examination taken by the SOG of the candidates taking training. ADG Singh told the court that SOG had taken a contingent examination of Trainee SI on March 19, 2024 in Jaipur, Kishangarh and Jodhpur. This exam was taken from the same question papers which came in the original recruitment examination. He clarified that this examination was part of the research for the identity of the suspects, not the merit-based examination. In this examination, 150 numbers of 51 candidates were reduced, and there were about 100 candidates whose original recruitment examination had come down to 100 numbers.
Being ‘intelligent’ does not mean paper
ADG Singh told the court that there were many ‘intelligent’ candidates in this contingent examination, but this does not mean that he would not have received the paper before the exam. On the issue of candidates who leave the old job, he said that 10 such candidates have been arrested. He also said that Unique Bhambhu, the main accused in the case, has fled abroad and four other accused have not been arrested yet. Additionally, some more candidates are also absconding.
RPSC member Babulal Katara’s involvement
ADG Singh told the court that RPSC member Babulal Katara had given SI recruitment paper to his nephew Vijay Damor and the driver of the driver. Both Katara and his driver did not inform the Commission about their close relatives appearing in the examination. He told that Katara had leaked the paper 35 days before the examination. Therefore, it cannot be said that the recruitment exam would have been completely correct.
Next hearing on 17 July
It is worth noting that on Monday, the court was told by the selected candidates that SOG had taken a contingent examination of trainee candidates and most of the candidates had passed in it. It was also said that SOG has made only 53 arrests so far and he had recommended the cancellation of SI recruitment exam 2021 on his own, while the government had not sought any opinion from them. On this, the court held SOG and SIT head ADG V.K. Singh was called on Tuesday. The next hearing in the case will now be held on 17 July.
