According to Bar and Bench, this case is from Chandan Nagar police station area of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh. Here a 21-year-old girl and her 8-year-old younger brother had filed a case against their own parents under serious sections accusing them of physical abuse. The children accused their parents of beating them, preventing them from watching TV during Covid 19. On the complaint of the children, the police registered a case against the parents under serious sections like Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Juvenile Justice Act. Under these serious sections, the couple could have been sentenced to up to seven years.

After this, the couple filed a petition before the High Court demanding to cancel the case against them. On the other hand, in the court, the couple said that they are very upset with their children’s addiction to mobile and watching TV, so they scold them. The couple said that this is not just a problem of their house but today every parent is upset with their children’s mobile addiction, this is the story of every house and it is common for parents to scold the children. After an FIR was lodged against the parents, both the children went to live at their aunt’s house. Another revelation in this case was that the children’s father is also having a dispute with his sister, at whose house the children have gone to live.
