Lahore. There has been continuous turmoil in the Pakistan Cricket Board since the arrival of the new chairman. The news is coming that Babar Azam, who left the captaincy after the bad defeat in the ICC ODI World Cup, will again be made the captain of T20. The current captain of the team, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is disappointed at not being included in the discussions related to his future as Pakistan cricket and T20 captain. He is considering leaving the captaincy.
Shaheen Afridi is angry with the current turmoil in Pakistan cricket. A source close to him said that as far as captaincy or appointment of coaches is concerned, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the national selectors have not even once talked to him about his future plans. In fact, for the last few days, there is discussion about making former captain and team’s star batsman Babar Azam the T20 captain again.
Babar Azam can be given the responsibility of captain before the ICC T20 World Cup. Shaheen was not told about this and he is unhappy with it. A source associated with him said, “If Shaheen is the captain of the national T20 team, it is natural for him to be disappointed.” He hoped that even if the board and selectors wanted to remove him, they should inform him about the reasons behind it and give him information about everything.
The source said Shaheen was also disappointed that when the PCB chief discussed the T20 World Cup, appointment of coaches and captaincy with the national selectors and Babar Azam this week, he was not included.
