New Delhi. Delhi Police has formed SIT to investigate the assault on Aam Aadmi Party MP Swati Maliwal. This SIT headed by North Delhi’s Additional DCP Anjitha Chipiyala will investigate Swati Maliwal’s complaint. Three inspectors including the SHO of Civil Lines police station have also been kept in the SIT. Police have arrested the accused Vibhav Kumar in the case of assault on Swati Maliwal. Vibhav Kumar is PA of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Vibhav Kumar has not yet given the password of his mobile phone to the police. Earlier, Delhi Police had told in the court that Vibhav Kumar has also formatted his mobile phone.
To recreate the crime scene, Delhi Police had taken Vibhav Kumar to CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Monday. Earlier, the police had also taken Swati Maliwal to Kejriwal’s house for investigation. Delhi Police has also seized the CCTV DVR from CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence in connection with the investigation of the assault on Swati Maliwal. Delhi Police suspects that the CCTV footage has been tampered with. If this is found to be the case, it may increase Vibhav Kumar’s troubles. Also, Arvind Kejriwal may have to face questions. Meanwhile, Swati Maliwal has posted on Instagram and alleged that personal videos are being sought from Aam Aadmi Party members to tarnish her image. Swati Maliwal has also alleged that the ministers of Arvind Kejriwal government are spreading lies. Maliwal has said that she will take them to court.
Swati Maliwal has alleged that on May 13, when she went to meet Arvind Kejriwal at his official residence, Vibhav Kumar suddenly abused her and then beat her up. Swati Maliwal says that Vibhav Kumar slapped her 7-8 times, kicked her in the stomach and legs and also lifted her shirt. A day after the incident, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, after meeting Swati Maliwal, in a press conference said that Vibhav Kumar has misbehaved with the woman MP and Arvind Kejriwal will take strict action. Then when Swati Maliwal gave a written complaint against Vibhav Kumar to the police, Aam Aadmi Party leaders started alleging that at the behest of BJP, Swati Maliwal wanted to implicate Arvind Kejriwal and failing to do so, action would be taken against Vibhav Kumar. A false case was registered.
