Question- What is skin donation and who can do it?
answer- After death, the skin is cut and removed from the person’s body. Then it is processed according to medical science and stored in the skin bank. Any person above 18 years of age can donate skin. There is no maximum age limit for skin donation, yet skin of people between 65 to 70 years of age can be taken easily. If someone’s skin quality is good even at the age of 75-80 years, then that can also be taken.

answer- Patients suffering from HIV, Hepatitis B-C or STD, any infection, septicemia, any skin infection or skin cancer cannot donate skin.
Question- Where do we take skin from in the body?
answer- In cadaver donation, skin from the legs, thighs and back of the deceased is usually taken.
Question: How many hours after death can skin donation take place?
answer- The skin can be taken within 6 hours of death in summer, within 12 hours in winter and even up to 12 hours if the body is kept refrigerated.
