Czech automaker Skoda is going to launch its Kodiaq facelift in the Indian market, according to reports, the company will introduce a new avatar of this car on January 14. For which booking has already started at select dealerships,
However, the company has not made any announcement regarding the official booking yet. It is believed that the delivery of this car is going to start from 14th January i.e. from the day of launch. Let us tell you, the Kodiaq has been discontinued about two years ago, due to the company’s decision to phase out its diesel line-up due to BS6 standards.
Petrol engine option
On the other hand, the mid-life facelift on the Kodiaq was introduced globally in April and the company made several changes in terms of design, mechanical and features. The biggest change in the new Kodiaq will be seen in its engine. According to the information received, where the pre-facelift Kodiaq was only available with a 2.0-litre diesel engine equipped with 150hp power. At the same time, it will now be launched with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 190hp power, following Skoda’s petrol-only line-up.

The main changes will be found in the design
Considering that this is only a mid-life facelift, there will be less cosmetic updates on the new Kodiaq. It will get a new upright grille up front, a higher bonnet, new LED daytime running lamps, the signature revamped headlamps and the front bumper with minor changes. Apart from this, there has been no change in the profile of the SUV, although it is expected to get a new design for the alloy wheels.

Talking about the interiors, the basic layout and design of the dashboard of this car is similar to the pre-facelift model. However, one can use Skoda’s new two-spoke steering wheel, which is now seen on all Skoda models including the Superb, Octavia, Kushak and the upcoming Slavia.
What’s the update on the price
The car currently does not have any direct rivals in India, however, it can be compared with other premium SUVs such as the recently launched Volkswagen Tiguan facelift and Citroen C5 Aircross. Talking about the price, the new Kodiaq can be slotted at a price above Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
