New Delhi: The effect of heat has started becoming visible in most of the states of the country. The temperature is increasing in many states including Delhi-Rajasthan. Talking about Friday’s weather, according to Skymet Weather report, there may be light to moderate rain and snowfall in the Western Himalayas. Light rain is possible at some places in Punjab, Haryana, Kerala, Sikkim and Northeast India. Light rain may occur in Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh and southern parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Last Thursday, there was light rain and snowfall in Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Jammu and Kashmir. Light rain occurred in Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Assam and Manipur. Scattered light rain occurred over Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and northern coast of Odisha. The state of Rajasthan is in the grip of seasonal heat. There was a slight delay, but temperatures have crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark over a large area, especially in western Rajasthan.
Heat has also been increasing in the parts of eastern Rajasthan bordering Delhi and Haryana for the last 2-3 days. Pre-monsoon activity is likely to increase in the state. The highest temperature of this season has been recorded in the border areas of western Rajasthan, more than 40 degrees Celsius. Extreme heat has also been observed in some other interior places during this week.
Whereas the Western Disturbance is moving ahead on the northern mountains. Another western disturbance will reach the Western Himalayas tomorrow. Both the systems, working together, will bring rain, thundershowers and snowfall over the hilly states over the next four days till March 31. Severe weather activity will be seen over Jammu and Kashmir, followed by minimal activity over the state of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
