Kasganj (Uttar Pradesh). Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday hit out at the opposition for keeping the Ram temple issue pending and said the public will have to choose between those who opened fire on kar sevaks and those who built the Ram temple. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shah also said that his party will neither remove nor allow anyone to remove the reservation of SC-ST (Scheduled Caste-Tribe) category and backward class and this is ‘Modi’s guarantee’.
Shah was addressing the election meeting here in support of BJP candidate Rajveer Singh from Etah parliamentary constituency. In the meeting, Shah fiercely attacked former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party. Shah said, “There are two camps, one camp is of those who opened fire on Ram devotees and the other camp is of those who built the Ram temple.”
The BJP leader said, “The parties of Congress Party, Rahul Baba and Akhilesh Yadav kept the issue of Ram Temple pending for 70-70 years, kept it distracted. You people of UP made PM Modi the Prime Minister for the second time and PM Modi performed Bhoomi Pujan on August 5, 2020 and on January 22, after consecrating his life, he became Jai Shri Ram.
He slammed SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi for not attending the ceremony despite receiving the invitation for the Pran Pratistha ceremony and said that the invitation was also given to Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple Yadav. But no one went there.
Shah said that it is for you to decide whether to vote for the Samajwadi Party which opened fire on Kar Sevaks or to vote for the BJP and Narendra Modi who sacrificed their governments to build the Ram Temple. He accused Rahul Gandhi of spreading lies in the name of backward classes. The BJP leader alleged that the Congress which is being supported by the Samajwadi Party is anti-backward class.
Shah said that the previous governments “suppressed the Kaka Saheb Kalelkar Committee report for years, opposed the Mandal Commission and when Modi ji became the Prime Minister, the backward classes were given constitutional respect.” Launching a sharp attack on Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav’s claim of ending reservation if BJP gets absolute majority, he said, “These people have opened a factory of lies.”
The Home Minister said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP have the absolute majority for two terms to remove reservation, but PM Modi is a supporter of reservation and today I go by saying ‘Modi Guarantee’ that neither BJP nor SC, ST and backward class will do reservation. Will neither remove nor allow anyone to remove. This is Modi’s guarantee.”
Shah started his speech by paying tribute to late former Chief Minister Kalyan, father of BJP MP from Etah Rajveer Singh and said that every BJP worker owes a huge debt to Kalyan Singh. He said, “Kalyan Singh ji dedicated his life to these two things – welfare of backward people and salvation of Ram Janmabhoomi. Today I am happy that my dear leader Prime Minister Modi has fulfilled both the goals of ‘Babuji’ (Kalyan Singh).
He also assured that if Modi becomes Prime Minister for the third time, five kilos of food grains will continue to be available till 2029, no one will be able to stop it. Shah also enumerated Modi’s schemes and said that he gave houses to three crore poor.
The former BJP chief also targeted Samajwadi Party chief Yadav for allegedly fielding only his family members. He claimed that out of the seats where voting took place in the first two phases, BJP will get more than 100 seats, while Congress and Samajwadi Party will not even be able to open their accounts. Voting will be held in the third phase in Etah on May 7.
