New Delhi. Hindus cannot get permission to worship in the Qutub Minar complex. A legal problem has come in its way. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the government agency that oversees the Qutub Minar, has implicated this. The ASI has said on the petition of the Hindu side filed in Delhi’s Saket court that the identity of Qutub Minar cannot be changed. He has said that Qutub Minar got the status of a protected monument in the year 1914 under the law. The government agency says that the identity of Qutub Minar cannot be changed under this law. There has never been a worship here since its preservation and because of this no longer can the monument allow for worship.
The Hindu side had claimed in the application filed in the court that there are many idols of Hindu and Jain deities in the Qutub Minar complex. The right to worship and restoration of the idols of these deities was demanded from the court, but due to the entanglement of the law, the Hindu side does not seem to get any relief on this application. Let us inform that from May 13, the ASI has also stopped offering Namaz in a mosque located in the Qutub Minar complex. This decision was taken suddenly by the agency. That day was Friday and prayers were not allowed to be offered even after the request of the mutawalli of the mosque.
Actually, the whole matter is about the Quwwat-ul-Masjid located in the Qutub Minar complex. In the construction of this mosque, debris and pillars brought from the destruction of 27 Hindu and Jain temples have been used. This mosque, built during the period of Qutubuddin Aibak, is included in the ancient mosques of India. It was here that Hindus were demanding worship. Recently, a Hindu organization had announced to read Hanuman Chalisa here, but the police took everyone into custody.
