So did Netaji's family accept that Subhash Bose died in a plane crash?

Highlights

Till now Subhash Chandra Bose’s family did not believe him to be dead in the plane crashHowever, Netaji’s daughter Anita always believed that Subhash Bose did not survive the plane crashEven the Indian government has not officially declared him dead.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s family always believed that he did not die in a plane crash in Japan on 18 August 1945. This stance of theirs created many problems. Whenever there was talk of bringing back his ashes, his family itself opposed it. When the Bharat Ratna award was considered in 1992, even then his family objected to the word posthumous. But it seems that now they have come to a consensus that he died in the same accident, which remained a mystery. However, his daughter Anita Bose Pfaff had been demanding to bring back his ashes to India for the past few years. But now for the first time his grandson has written a letter to the Prime Minister to bring back Netaji’s ashes from Japan’s Renkoji temple.

If we refer to the contents of this letter, then the Bose family has now started believing that the mystery surrounding Netaji’s death, which was going on for 79 years, has been put to an end and they are ready to accept that he died in a plane crash on the same day, the news of which was released by the Japanese government five days after the accident. However, there was also a mystery about whether the ashes kept in Rankoji temple were his or someone else’s. However, Chandra Kumar Bose had been saying till five years ago that the ashes should be brought to India and their DNA test should be done after bringing them here.

However, Netaji’s daughter Anita Pfaff has been saying for many years that his ashes should be brought to India and immersed in the Ganga. Former BJP leader Chandra Kumar Bose has also asked for a final statement from the Center to end the false stories and theories about Netaji.

what did the grandson write in the letter
Chandra Kumar Bose said in his letter to PM Modi, “Now the time has come for the Government of India to take the initiative to make the files related to Netaji public. Close the case. After the release of all the files (10 investigations – national and international), it is clear that Netaji died on 18 August 1945. Therefore, it is necessary that a final statement be given by the Government of India, so that the false stories about the liberator of India can be stopped.”

Anita has been demanding for many years that a DNA test be conducted on Netaji’s ashes kept in the temple in Tokyo so that the truth can come out and Netaji’s soul can be given peace.

Many theories related to death
There are many theories about Netaji’s death and disappearance. It is generally believed that Bose died soon after a plane crash in Taipei in 1945. Another theory says that Japan deliberately gave him safe passage to Russia and his death was fabricated by hiding this fact from the world. He was captured in Russia during Stalin’s rule. He was kept in jail. He was murdered.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s grandson Chandrakumar Bose used to demand DNA test of the bones kept in Rankoji temple of Tokyo till five years ago. The family did not accept these bones as those of Netaji.

A few years ago, the central government classified about 300 files related to Netaji. Some files are still there. Despite this, it is not known whether he was really alive after the air crash in Taihoku on 18 August 1945. Three commissions have been formed in India to investigate this.

What have the reports of the investigation commissions been saying
The first two commissions said that Netaji had died on 18 August 1945 at Taihoku Airport in Taiwan. But the Justice Manoj Mukherjee Commission of the Supreme Court gave a completely opposite report. Since then, the issue of DNA testing of Netaji’s bones kept in the temple in Japan kept gaining momentum.

The Mukherjee Commission wrote in its report that Netaji did not die in Taihoku on 18 August 1945. The commission said that the ashes kept in Rankoji temple were the ashes of some other Taiwanese soldier.

What did Subhash’s elder brother believe
Subhash’s elder brother Sharat Bose did not believe that his brother had died. Subhash’s elder brother Sharat Chandra Bose was included in the Shahnawaz Khan Inquiry Commission formed for the first time, but he also expressed disagreement with the Shahnawaz Commission’s report and issued his own separate report. He said that Subhash did not die in the plane crash in Taihoku. But Krishna Bose, wife of Sharat’s son Shishir, says that according to the information she has, Netaji has died in that accident.

The elder brother’s son also admitted that the death was not in an air crash
Chandra Kumar Bose is Netaji’s grandson, he is the son of Sarat Chandra Bose’s eldest son Amiya Nath Bose. Amiya also never believed that Netaji died in that accident. Till some time back, Chandrakumar was also firm on his father’s stance. Now it seems that his opinion has changed.

Now what do Netaji’s grandson and daughter want?
However, Chandra Kumar has demanded many times that the whole matter should be resolved by getting Netaji’s bones examined. Netaji’s daughter Anita Bose Pfaff also agrees with him in this matter. Subhash Chandra Bose’s daughter Anita Bose Pfaff is now over 80 years old. She lives in Germany.

Netaji’s daughter Anita Pfaff is now over 80 years old. She lives in Germany. She always believed that her father died in a plane crash.

The daughter also believed that the death happened in an air crash
Anita always said that she had no information or knowledge that her father was alive after the plane crash. She believed him to be dead. She wanted that the ashes of her father kept in the temple in Japan should be brought to India after a DNA test. If these ashes are of her father, then she would like to perform a ‘Tarpan’ in the Ganga river so that her father’s soul may rest in peace.

In fact, around 1941, Subhash Chandra Bose secretly married his stenographer Emily Schenkel in Germany. Anita was born to them. Anita has visited India many times.

Three inquiry commissions
Subhash Chandra Bose has become a mysterious legend in the country. So many things have been said about his death or being alive. Three investigation commissions were formed to investigate this. Two commissions were formed during the tenure of Congress governments and one Justice Manoj Mukherjee Commission was formed in 1999 by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The first two commissions believed that Bose died in an air crash. While the third commission flatly denied this. The Mukherjee Commission even raised questions on the ashes kept in the Tokyo temple.

The story of the bones reaching Tokyo
There is a story about Bose’s ashes reaching Tokyo from the air crash site in Taihoku. If we talk about Shahnawaz’s report, then according to it, on August 20, Netaji was cremated with full military honors behind the Honganji Temple in Taihoku. This work was done under the supervision of the Buddhist priest of the temple. The next day the ashes were collected in a wooden box from the crematorium.

The report says that this one-foot cubic wooden box was wrapped in white cloth and kept in the temple for a week. Then it was transported to Tokyo by plane and train. When the ashes reached Tokyo, a procession was taken out and it was installed in Rankoji temple amidst religious rites. Since then these ashes are in the same temple.

The Indian government has not yet accepted him as dead
There have been demands to bring these ashes to India many times. But the legal problem is that the Indian government has not yet declared Netaji Subhash dead. Netaji’s daughter feels that there were some people in the previous governments who never wanted to find a solution to Netaji’s case. They wanted this mystery to remain.
