Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has created a new tagline for Telangana to rebuild Hyderabad. He has said that from now on the state should be called by this name. CM Revanth Reddy said why not call Telangana the ‘state of the future’ from now on. What is the process for changing the name of a state?
Let us tell you that constitutionally only the Parliament of the country has the right to change the name of any state. In such a situation, if Reddy wants the name to be changed, then there will be a complete process for it. Article 3 of the Constitution determines the process for the formation of any new state and change in the boundaries of existing states or their names. However, if the name of Telangana is changed, then a proposal for this will first go to the Legislative Assembly.
