Sony’s upcoming flagship headphone a few days ago WH-1000XM5 Some images were leaked. While it certainly fills fans with excitement, according to a new leak, the headphones might not be the only ones to hit the market in the future. Some new images have surfaced on the web showing the next earbuds by the Japanese firm. Not sure if these fall under the premium segment, but it reminds us of the WF-1000XM4 earbuds. Revealed by a tipster account on Twitter named SnoopyTech, the earbuds could be part of Sony’s ‘LinkBuds’ family and could launch in two colors – black and beige or sand look.
Sony LinkBuds S/WF-LSN900 Leaked: Design and Features
From a design standpoint, the earbuds seem to adopt the shape of the current flagship WF-1000XM4, but don’t look as premium. Although these are said to be under Sony’s LinkBuds lineup, the design feels completely different from the current model. The first set of LinkBuds (WF-L900) was launched in February this year and featured an open-back design. The tipster has named it Sony LinkBuds S/WF-LSN900 Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds.
These earbuds appear slightly smaller in size than the WF-1000XM4 and have a silicone ear tip to seal the ear canal for better noise cancellation. Also sounds like a vent just outside the sound tubes which could possibly be there to cut out outside noise or allow for the various transparency modes. One of the features mentioned is that the earbuds will enable users to automatically trigger ambient mode or switch back to ANC mode without having to manually switch them on. However, we expect the ANC to be roughly the same as the WH-1000XM4 if not identical.
Sony LinkBuds S/WF-LSN900 Leaked: Expected Price
However, there is no word on when the new LinkBuds will be launched or at what price, to put that in perspective, the original Sony LinkBuds are priced at EUR 180 (Rs 14,500). These have not been launched in India yet. The price of 1000XM4 earbuds in India is Rs 24,990 (MRP). So, if Sony is planning to launch it in India, it could be priced around Rs 16,000.
While Sony seems to be sweating rivals with the new LinkBuds and WH-1000XM5 headphones, competitor Sennheiser is also battling to capture the audio market. The firm recently launched Momentum True Wireless 3 earbuds. Sony’s 1000XM4 Wireless Earbuds. These cost $249.95 (about Rs 19,200) and have large 7mm drivers with adaptive ANC, custom profile support, and more.
