Good news has come out for the aspirants of government jobs. The state government of Orissa has increased the maximum age limit for civil services from 32 to 38 years. The state government has decided to increase the age limit for government jobs by 6 more years from the present 32. At the same time, maternity leave for eligible female employees of aided colleges has been increased from 90 days to 180 days.
Some big decisions have been taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The cabinet has increased the age limit for state civil services from 32 years to 38 years. According to Suresh Chandra Mahamatra, the age limit for male candidates has been increased by three years. Whereas for female candidates the age limit has been increased by five years. The revised age limit will be introduced in 2021 and will be applicable to the recruitment process in 2022 and 2023. This will give the best opportunity to the youth preparing for government jobs.
After the approval of the proposal, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra said that the government has decided to increase the age limit for admission to civil services from 32 to 38 years by 2023 for three years. This decision was taken to enable the youth who could not appear in the recruitment test due to the situation of covid and their recruitment was completed in the last two years.
