Actually, Yogi has been the CM of the state for the last 7 years and 148 days and with this he has become the CM who has been in office for the longest time continuously. Earlier this record was in the name of Congress leader Dr. Sampurnanand. He was the CM continuously for 5 years and 344 days from 1954 to 1960. Now this record has been registered in the name of Yogi Adityanath.
However, the record of becoming the CM of Uttar Pradesh the most number of times is registered in the name of BSP supremo Mayawati, she has been the Chief Minister of the state four times. The name of late SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav comes second in this order, he has been the Chief Minister of the state thrice, but despite this, these two leaders could not break the record of being on the CM post for the longest time continuously.
By the way, Yogi also has another record related to the post of Chief Minister. When Yogi took oath as the CM of the state for the second consecutive time in March 2022, he broke the 37-year-old record of late Congress leader and former CM ND Tiwari. ND Tiwari took oath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the second time in the year 1985, when Uttarakhand was not formed by separating from the state. Not only this, Yogi also broke a very old superstition while being the Chief Minister. It was said that whoever visits Noida while being the Chief Minister of UP loses his chair, but Yogi broke this myth by making several visits to Noida in his first term itself and despite this, he was elected CM of the state for the second consecutive time.
