Extensive action is being taken for the special intensive revision campaign of the voter list as part of the preparation for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. A total of 7.89 crore citizens of the state have been included in this campaign, out of which a large number – about 4.96 crore voters will not require any documents.
Who are these 60% people?
With the aim of making the voting process easy and transparent, the Election Commission has clarified that these are those:
Whose name was recorded in the 2003 special voter list.
Whose details have not changed.
Whose name is also in the current updated list.
These voters only have to show that their name is present in the latest list. This will provide relief in documentary formalities and save time.
Documents required for the rest of the people
The remaining 40% of the voters will have to present some documents, such as:
Aadhar card,
Latest Niwas Certificate,
Date of birth proof,
Or any other government recognized identity card.
This process is being done to add the names of new voters, improve old names and remove the names of dead or transferred voters.
