New Delhi. Sri Lanka won the toss in the first T20 match and invited India to bat first. Sanju Samson did not get a place in the playing eleven in this match being played at Pallekele International Stadium. The Indian team is playing a 3-match T20 series. Suryakumar Yadav is captaining the Indian team while Gautam Gambhir is coaching a team on the international stage for the first time as a coach. All-rounder Shivam Dubey, pacer Khalil Ahmed and all-rounder Washington Sundar have also been kept away from the final eleven.

After losing the toss, Team India captain Suryakumar Yadav said, ‘It (the pitch) looks good and it is okay to bat first. The brand of cricket is the same.
