Indian The stock market closed with a decline on Wednesday. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s index Sensex closed at 80,148 today with a gain of 0.35 percent i.e. 280 points. At the time of market closing, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 10 were in the green zone and 20 were in the red zone. Whereas, the National Stock Exchange’s index Nifty closed at 24,413 today, falling 0.27 percent i.e. 65 points. At the time of market closing, out of 50 Nifty stocks, 20 were in the green zone and 30 were in the red zone.

These stocks saw a rise

Among the Nifty pack stocks, the biggest gainers today were HDFC Life at 4.36 per cent, Tech Mahindra at 3.12 per cent, BPCL at 2.91 per cent, NTPC at 2.67 per cent and Tata Motors at 2.46 per cent. Apart from this, the biggest losers were Bajaj Finserv at 2.09 per cent, Tata Consumer at 1.90 per cent, Britannia at 1.88 per cent, Axis Bank at 1.82 per cent and Bajaj Finance at 1.67 per cent.

Status of sectoral indices

Talking about sectoral indices, today the highest gain was recorded in Nifty Media by 2.47 percent, Nifty Oil & Gas by 1.69 percent, Nifty Consumer Durables by 1.08 percent, Nifty IT by 0.18 percent, Nifty Metal by 0.04 percent, Nifty Pharma by 0.74 percent, Nifty Realty by 0.78 percent, Nifty Healthcare Index by 0.59 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Private Bank fell by 0.76 percent, Nifty PSU Bank by 0.35 percent, Nifty FMCG by 0.53 percent, Nifty Financial Services by 0.60 percent, Nifty Auto by 0.05 percent and Nifty Bank by 0.89 percent.
