The market enthusiasm was also seen in the last trading session of the week, both the important indexes opened at record highs on Friday. At 9:15 am, the benchmark Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange was seen trading at a level of 76884.39 points with a gain of 73.49 points. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also seen trading at a level of 23428.10, strengthening by 29.2 points. The Bank Nifty index opened at 49,993.95, up 147.25 points or 0.30%. Hindalco, Power Grid Corp, Britannia, Shriram Finance and Bharti Airtel were the major gainers on the Nifty, while Bajaj Auto, HUL, NTPC, JSW Steel and Bajaj Finserv were in loss.
Trends in the International Market
Stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region are trading mixed on Friday morning. The Asian Dow is up 0.85%, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 is in the red with a drop of 0.17%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is up 0.97%, and the benchmark Chinese index Shanghai Composite is trading down 0.08%.
Earlier, according to provisional data available on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 3,033 crore while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 553.88 crore on June 13, 2024. On Friday morning, WTI crude prices are trading down by 0.18% at $77.79, while Brent crude prices are trading down by 0.93% at $81.98.
