Major losers on Nifty included Wipro, TCS, Titan Company, Adani Ports and HCL Tech, while gainers were Coal India, Reliance Industries, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel and Hindalco Industries. On the last trading day on Thursday, both the indices closed with a strong fall. The 30-share Bombay Stock Exchange closed at 51,496 with a loss of 1046 points, while the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange slipped 332 points to close at the year’s low of 15,360.

On Friday, the last trading day of the week, the stock market opened on the red mark. Sensex down 392 points or 0.76 per cent at 51,103 and Nifty lost 116 points or 0.76 per cent to start trading at 15,244 level. With the opening of the market, about 522 shares have risen, 1297 shares have declined and 86 shares have remained unchanged.
