Jaipur. Strange coincidences are often seen in politics. A similar case has come to light in Rajasthan and it has become a topic of discussion. This interesting coincidence is related to two BJP leaders who became part of the Modi cabinet by becoming MPs in the Lok Sabha elections 2019 and 2024. These two leaders are Ajmer MP Bhagirath Chaudhary, who became part of the Modi cabinet this time, and former minister Kailash Chaudhary, who was a member of PM Modi’s team last time. Both these leaders are such who lost the assembly elections badly and won the Lok Sabha elections with a bang and then became ministers at the Center.
It is said that one should not be disappointed by defeat. This is absolutely true for two leaders of Rajasthan, former Union Minister of State Kailash Chaudhary and current Union Minister of State Bhagirath Chaudhary. Both these leaders had lost the assembly elections before becoming MPs. But later their luck changed and they became MPs. The matter did not end here, but luck worked so well that both of them also got ministerial posts.
Lost the election from Kishangarh, won the Ajmer Lok Sabha election
Ajmer MP Bhagirath Chaudhary has been elected MP for the second consecutive time this time. BJP had fielded him from Kishangarh seat of Ajmer in the assembly elections 2023. But Vikas Chaudhary, a contender for BJP ticket, rebelled there. Later Vikas left the party and joined Congress. Congress gave him a ticket and he won. The result was that Chaudhary lost the election badly there. He got only about 37 thousand votes. He was not only second but also third. This put his Lok Sabha ticket in danger. But he also got the ticket. Chaudhary won by more than three and a quarter lakh votes. Now he has been made a Minister of State in the Modi cabinet.
Barmer MP lost the assembly seat election from Baytu and won
A similar case happened with BJP leader Kailash Choudhary in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Kailash Choudhary had lost badly to Congress’ Harish Choudhary from Baytu seat of Barmer in the 2018 assembly elections. He got only about 38 thousand votes. Kailash Choudhary also came third there, not second. Later his luck turned and BJP fielded him from Barmer-Jaisalmer seat. At that time, Manvendra, son of former foreign minister Jaswant Singh, a veteran BJP leader, was contesting against him from Congress.
This time, even the bail was saved with great difficulty.
Choudhary defeated all the equations and registered a landslide victory on this seat. Kailash also won this election by about 3.25 lakh votes. After that his luck got stronger. He was made the Minister of State for Agriculture in the Modi cabinet. It is a different matter that this time he lost the Lok Sabha election from Barmer. This time he did not get even as many votes as he had won last time. Kailash Choudhary got only 286733 votes. He barely managed to save his deposit.
