new Delhi. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday said that the two most important pillars in India’s fight against the COVID pandemic are strong leadership and collective efforts. Addressing a webinar on ‘India’s Public Health Response to COVID Management’ with NGO affiliated to NITI Aayog, Mandaviya said, “Our action plan against the COVID pandemic was implemented across the country with the collective efforts of all, It has shown the strength of India unitedly.”
Amitabh Kant, Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog was also present in the virtual webinar.
Addressing the NGO, Mandaviya said, “NGOs have played an important role during the Corona disaster and the world is appreciating the way India has fought unitedly against the COVID pandemic.”
He said that the NGO has played a vital role in alleviating fear in the community, eliminating vaccine hesitation, mobilizing people for vaccination, reaching out to vulnerable people and most importantly providing authentic information.
Talking about India’s efforts in the fight against the COVID pandemic, Amitabh Kant said that there was a huge difference in the approach of India and other countries. India’s approach in the fight against COVID was based on technology which helped us achieve this result. Kant said that around 14 million people played a key role in providing a vaccine against COVID for people and themselves. COVID vaccine made available in India at affordable prices.
The CEO of NITI Aayog said that India took a systematic approach in the fight against COVID. There were many challenges behind the success of the vaccination campaign such as from production to its equitable distribution, doubts about the vaccine, priority, issues of transportation in India. He said that India has become the vaccine capital of the whole world.
