Kaithal. The Ambala team of the Anti -Corruption Bureau (ACB) has taken major action in Kaithal today and arrested Manbir Singh, the sub -inspector of the Economic Offenses Branch, demanding bribe. The accused was arrested from his residence in Kaithal. A case has been registered against him under Section 7 PCACT 1988 under the Anti -Corruption Bureau, Ambala. In the complaint given to ACB Ambala, the woman complainant said that Sub Inspector Manbir Singh was investigating a case (Section 406, 420, 506 IPC) filed against her father in Rajaund, District Kaithal. The complainant alleges that Manbir Singh had sought a bribe of one lakh rupees from him in lieu of cancellation of the case.
During the ACB action, the accused sub -inspector Manbir Singh called the complainant to the government hospital Kaithal with a bribe amount. When the accused r Meanwhile, accused Sub Inspector Manbir Singh also molested the complainant while sitting in the car and tried to forcibly snatch the bribe, but he escaped from the spot as soon as the ACB team’s arrival was received.
The ACB later arrested the accused sub -inspector Manbir Singh from his residence in Kaithal. Along with seeking bribe in this case, Section 75 BNS 2023 has also been added on charges of molestation of the complainant. The ACB is further investigating the case.
