New Delhi. BJP leader and former MP Subramanian Swamy has once again raised questions about the citizenship of Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Subramanian Swamy has shared a photo of the annual return filed with the British government as a British citizen in the name of Rahul Gandhi on a social media post. Swamy claimed that Rahul Gandhi is a British citizen who acquired British citizenship in 2003 and started a company called Back Ops in London. Because of this, his Indian citizenship is illegal. The BJP leader questioned PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in this matter and asked, why is the government not taking action against Rahul Gandhi?

Let us tell you that this is not the first time that Subramanian Swamy has raised questions about Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship. Subramanian Swamy first raised this issue in November 2015. Then he wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi in this regard and demanded action against Rahul Gandhi. Swamy claimed that Rahul has British citizenship, so his Indian citizenship is illegal, due to which his membership of Parliament should be canceled.
Swamy had also raised this issue in the Supreme Court. By filing a petition in the Supreme Court, Swamy had demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter, however, the apex court rejected Swamy’s petition. After this, Subramanian Swamy once again raised this issue through social media in the year 2017. Swamy had written a letter to the then Home Minister Rajnath Singh in this regard and demanded action against Rahul Gandhi. In January 2016, BJP MP Mahesh Giri also wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding clarification on Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship.
