New Delhi. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court raising questions on the citizenship of Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. In his petition, Swamy has requested the High Court to direct the Home Ministry to cancel Rahul Gandhi’s Indian citizenship. No date has been fixed for hearing Swamy’s petition yet, but there is a possibility that his petition may be heard next week.
My Associate Advocate Satya Sabharwal has filed A PIL on the failure of the Home Ministry to prosecute Rahul Gandhi and show cause why he should not be stripped of his Indian citizenship. Rahul Gandhi has refused to reply to HM hence the PIL. I also thank Associates Vishesh Kanoria.

Subramanian Swamy himself gave information through a social media post and said, a petition demanding cancellation of Rahul Gandhi’s Indian citizenship has been filed in the Delhi High Court by my colleague lawyer Satya Sabharwal. Rahul Gandhi has refused to respond to the Home Ministry in this matter, so a PIL has been filed. Let us tell you that on August 10, Subramanian Swamy shared a photo of Rahul Gandhi’s annual return filed with the British government as a British citizen on a social media post. Swamy claims that Rahul Gandhi is a British citizen who acquired British citizenship in 2003 and started a company called Back Ops in London. Because of this, his Indian citizenship is illegal.
Subramanian Swamy has raised questions about Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship earlier as well. Subramanian Swamy first raised this issue in November 2015. Then he wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi in this regard and demanded action against Rahul Gandhi. After this, Subramanian Swamy once again raised this issue through social media in the year 2017. Swamy wrote a letter to the then Home Minister Rajnath Singh in this regard and demanded action against Rahul Gandhi. Swamy also raised this issue in the Supreme Court but his petition was rejected there.
