The Indian Air Force has successfully test-fired the new BrahMos missile. This is the BrahMos Extended Air Version missile which can hit the target accurately from the air. It was successfully tested in the Bay of Bengal. It was successfully launched from Sukhoi-30 MKI. The missile hit the target perfectly. With this success, the Air Force has now acquired the power to conduct precision strikes.
Now the Air Force can conduct long range operations both on land and at sea. The BrahMos missile travels almost twice as fast as the speed of sound. The extended version BrahMos missile has a range of 350 km, whereas earlier it used to have a range of 290 km.
