Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024: The Sri Lankan team has created history in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024. The Sri Lankan women’s team has won the Asia Cup trophy by defeating the Indian team by 8 wickets in the final. The Sri Lankan team has won the Women’s T20 Asia Cup title for the first time. In the final match, Indian team captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to bat first. After this, India gave Sri Lanka a target of 166 runs to win. After which the batsmen performed strongly for Sri Lanka.
Smriti Mandhana scored a half century
The Indian team had a very bad start when Shefali Verma got out after scoring just 16 runs in 19 balls. After this, Uma Chhetri and captain Harmanpreet Kaur were also able to play big innings. Then Smriti Mandhana tried to handle the Indian innings. She scored 60 runs. Jemima Rodrigues contributed 29 runs. After this, Richa Ghosh finally scored 30 runs in 14 balls in a brilliant manner. This is the first time that both teams have crossed the 150-run mark in a Women’s T20 Asia Cup match. This had never happened before. Both teams together scored 332 runs in the match. This is the highest score in any Women’s T20 Asia Cup match so far.
