New Delhi. A trial to demolish the nearly 100 meter high Supertech Twin Towers in Noida began on Sunday. The building will be demolished on May 22. Such a tall building will be demolished for the first time in India. The work of demolition of the 32-storey twin tower has been given to Mumbai’s Edifice Agency. The company has made South African company Demolition Agency as its partner for this work, 5 kg of explosives will be installed in the building for trial and 5 explosions will be done. These towers were built illegally by Supertech Builder, which was ordered to be demolished by the Supreme Court.
Amidst preparations for the demolition of the building, police force has been deployed around the building and that road has also been closed. An advisory has also been issued for the local people, under which people from neighboring buildings will not come out during the blast. It will cost about 18 crores to break the twin tower, it is estimated that about 25 thousand tonnes of debris will come out of the building. However, at present, blasting will be done with the help of explosives in the basement and 14th floor and blast will be done in 5 pillars of the building.
This 5 kg blast has been ordered under police protection, after this trial the teams will be able to estimate how much explosion is going to be required for the whole building. At the same time, a siren will be sounded in the building just before the dry run, so that people can take precaution. According to the information, Africa’s Jet Demolition 108 meter building has been demolished earlier in Africa. During the trial blast, senior Edphis Engineering executives and technical experts, Jet Demolition’s Managing Director Joe Brinkman, Explosion Design and Safety Head Martinus Botha and the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) will also be present.
