New Delhi. Recently, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail to jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, giving him relief for election campaign. Since then, he has been continuously campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 for the Aam Aadmi Party. With similar hopes, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had also filed a petition for interim bail in the Supreme Court for the election campaign. His lawyer Kapil Sibal argued in the Supreme Court that if Kejriwal can be granted bail on this basis then Hemant Soren should also be granted bail. But the court has given a big blow to Soren by rejecting this appeal outright.
The Supreme Court said in this regard, “The lower court has already taken cognizance of this matter. Along with this, the regular bail has also been rejected, so at such a time there is no solid basis for hearing any petition against arrest.” For information, let us tell you that this matter has already been heard in the court on Tuesday. In the appeal filed in the Supreme Court, Hemant Soren’s lawyer Kapil Sibal had said that this is a matter of 8.86 acres of land. Hemant Soren has nothing to do with it. When you look at all the records, everything is fine. In such a situation, I do not understand what is the subject of dispute.

Let us tell you that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is badly trapped in the clutches of ED these days. Due to this, he is imprisoned in the land scam case. ED had presented evidence before the court after which he was arrested. However, before his arrest, he had resigned from the post of Chief Minister. After which Champai Soren took oath as Chief Minister. However, Hemant Soren’s family and party are still not free from this case. ED is constantly tightening its grip on the land scam case. In such a situation, Hemant Soren’s bail seems difficult right now.
