Supreme Court On Shambhu Border: Supreme Court asked Punjab and Haryana governments to partially open Shambhu border, movement has been stopped due to agitating farmers, Partially open Shambhu border says supreme court to Punjab and Haryana

New Delhi. The Supreme Court has asked the Punjab and Haryana governments to partially open the Shambhu border. The Supreme Court has also expressed satisfaction over the names of the members of the committee formed to end the deadlock by talking to the farmers gathered at the Shambhu border for a long time. The Supreme Court said that it is commendable to include non-political people in the committee to talk to the farmers gathered at the Shambhu border. The Supreme Court has asked the police officers of Patiala district of Punjab and Ambala district of Haryana to hold a meeting within a week and consider partially opening the Shambhu border.

The Supreme Court said that the police officers of Punjab and Haryana have to decide how the Shambhu border can be opened for essential services such as ambulances, students and daily commuters. During the hearing, the Supreme Court remarked that a highway cannot be blocked by parking tractors. That is, the Supreme Court has also shown the mirror to the agitating farmers. The next hearing of the Shambhu border case in the Supreme Court will now be on August 22. Earlier, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had ordered the opening of the Shambhu border. The Haryana government had approached the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court.

Haryana has kept the Shambhu border with Punjab closed for a long time. At that time, the farmers’ organizations of Punjab had announced to march to Delhi and had reached the Shambhu border. On this, the Haryana government closed the Shambhu border to prevent the protesting farmers of Punjab from reaching Delhi. Due to this, the protesting farmers of Punjab could not enter Haryana and their intention to come to Delhi and protest was thwarted. At the same time, the closure of Shambhu border created problems for patients, essential services and those who travel between Punjab and Haryana daily. Against which some people had filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
