Let us tell you that the UGC-NET exam was held on 18th June, but due to the news of paper leak, this exam was canceled on 19th June.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), the body conducting the exam, had announced to conduct this exam in August. The petitioner filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding postponement of the exam and argued that the CBI investigation is going on in this case on the allegations of paper leak, so till the CBI does not reach any conclusion, the exam should not be conducted for UGC NET students. At present, after the rejection of the petition, the way has been cleared for the conduct of the examination from 21 August to 4 September 2024.
Like last time, this time also the exam will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will be from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift will be from 3 pm to 6 pm. Now after getting the green signal from the Supreme Court to conduct the examination, the candidates are waiting for the admit card. NTA can issue the admit card by August 15. Earlier, on August 9, the Supreme Court had rejected the petition seeking postponement of NEET PG Exam 2024. A bench of Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra headed by Chief Justice (CJI) DY Chandrachud had said that it cannot order the postponement of the exam two days before the examination is conducted.
