Btusi Table Top Buyer-Seller Meet was organized by South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday, June 16, 2022 in New Jersey, USA. It was inaugurated by New Jersey Mayor Sam Joshi.
The Mayor visited each stall and was impressed to know more by seeing the clothes made by the industrialists of Surat. Not only this, he also got kurti, sherwani and koti for his marriage from a businessman from Surat. Also, one of the exhibitors ordered a jute bag to be given as a gift at his wedding.
Chamber president Ashish Gujrathi said the buyer-seller meeting in New Jersey had received an overwhelming response from local buyers. In this meet local buyers, sellers and producers came on one platform. Around 547 visitors visited during the day and the exhibitors received merchandise worth about US$1 million. At the same time other orders and numerous inquiries also arose.
He further added that the United States of America is the largest consumer of textiles in the whole world. It is also the largest importer of textile goods in the world. This has given a huge opportunity to the Indian textile industry to export to the United States. Now the next date is June 19th, 2022 to be held in California, the Btusi Table Top Buyer-Seller Meet. In which the textile industrialists of Surat will have direct contact with the global buyers of textiles.
Amish Shah, Chairman, Global Textile Trade Fair Exhibition, said the chamber was supported by local entrepreneurs Natwar Thakkar, Kunal Joshi, Albert Jasani, King Patel, Gayatriben Joshi and Paul Patel for the exhibition. He was also instrumental in bringing buyers to the exhibition. Kunal Joshi had shown readiness to give his warehouse free of cost to the industrialists of Surat to keep the goods.
Nikunj Khangani, who attended the buyer-seller meeting held in New Jersey, said local buyers visited the meeting and we were able to contact them directly. Several orders were received from buyers in the meeting and an inquiry was also generated.
One of the women exhibitors said that till now they were doing business in Surat and Gujarat, but because of Chamber there is a golden opportunity to do business internationally. Direct contact with local buyers in New Jersey will lead to a lot of business development in the future. Their stock ran out prematurely in today’s buyer-seller meeting.
