New Delhi. Bibhav Kumar, arrested in the case of misbehaving and assaulting Swati Maliwal, has once again made a new legal claim. Bibhav Kumar, the main accused in the Swati Maliwal case and PA of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has filed a bail petition in the trial court. The court will hear the petition of accused Bibhav Kumar on Monday (May 27). The court has sought a reply from Delhi Police on Bibhav Kumar’s application. Court sources said that Bibhav Kumar’s lawyers have filed the petition after he was sent to judicial custody for four days on Friday. Bibhav’s lawyers said that the petition is listed for hearing on Monday.
Rajya Sabha member Maliwal has alleged that Kejriwal’s personal assistant Bibhav Kumar assaulted her when she went to meet the Chief Minister at his residence on May 13. Bibhav was arrested on May 18 and has been in police custody since then. Earlier, his anticipatory bail plea filed last Saturday was rejected by the court as futile. Delhi Police has claimed that Bibhav Kumar is not cooperating in the investigation, is evasive in giving his answers and has not even revealed the password of his mobile phone.

Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal of Tis Hazari Court had accepted the prosecution’s request for four days of judicial custody of Kumar. Delhi Police arrested Kumar on May 18. Bibhav Kumar will now be produced in court on May 28. The FIR was registered on the written complaint of Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Bibhav is accused of assaulting Swati Maliwal at the Chief Minister’s residence on May 13.
