Taliban Rule In Afghanistan
Kabul: It has been three years since the Taliban ruled Afghanistan. In these three years, it has imposed its interpretation of Islamic law and tried to strengthen its claim to the legitimate government. Despite having no national recognition as the official ruler of the country, the Taliban have held high-level meetings with major regional powers like China and Russia. They have also participated in talks proposed by the United Nations in which Afghan women and civil society members were not given the opportunity to participate. This is a victory for the Taliban, who see themselves as the only true representatives of the country.
such is the arrangement
In Afghanistan, mosques and clerics are on one side, and the Kabul administration is on the other, which implements the clerics’ decisions and meets foreign officials. “There is extremism at different levels and the Taliban are in an uneasy alliance with ruling hardliners and political pragmatists,” said Javed Ahmed, a non-resident researcher at the Middle East Institute.
Afghanistan’s dependence on foreign aid increased
The most controversial policies are unlikely to be reversed while Supreme Leader Hibatullah Akhundzada is in charge and until the supreme leaders retire or resign. Natural disasters and the flow of Afghan citizens from Pakistan under pressure to return home have increased Afghanistan’s dependence on foreign aid to meet essential needs. This is a major risk if the international community cannot send that type of aid in the future.

Banning of the Taliban
Another significant blow to Afghanistan’s economy is the Taliban’s ban on female education and most employment, leaving half of Afghanistan’s population vulnerable to spending and tax payments that could otherwise boost the economy. Relations with China and Russia are important to the Taliban because they are permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. Currently, Gulf countries are also increasing their ties with the Taliban. (AP)
