Islamabad: The Taliban has taken a big step. The Taliban on Tuesday rejected several Afghan diplomatic missions abroad, saying it would not recognize passports, visas and other documents issued by diplomats associated with the former Western-backed administration in Afghanistan. This move is being seen as a new attempt by the Taliban to gain control over diplomatic missions.

These documents are no longer valid

The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement shared on the social media platform ‘X’ that the documents issued by missions in London, Berlin, Belgium, Bonn, Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Greece, Poland, Australia, Sweden, Canada and Norway are no longer valid and the ministry “takes no responsibility” for those documents. The documents affected by this announcement include passports, visa stickers, deeds and other documents.

This was said by the ministry

The ministry wrote that people from these countries will have to contact the embassies and consulates controlled by the Taliban’s ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’ (IEA) government. It said, “All Afghan citizens and foreigners living abroad can go to IEA political and consular missions in countries other than the above-mentioned missions to avail consular services. “(AP)
