So far many characters have changed in Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah serial but Bapuji and Jethalal are the same. When Dilip Joshi, playing the character of Jethalal, was cast for the serial, the makers wanted to give him the role of Champak Lal i.e. Bapuji, but Dilip refused to do the role, after which he was asked to play the role of Jethalal. Gaya, although there were many doubts and questions in Dilip Joshi’s mind regarding this role, yet he gave his heart out. Today, after many years, he is also happy about his decision. Dilip Joshi rules the hearts of millions of viewers through the character of Jethalal.
Babuji or Amit Bhatt was the only discovery of Dilip Joshi
It was Dilip Joshi who suggested Amit Bhatt’s name to the producers for the role of Bapuji. Amit Joshi says that he was signed for the role of Champak Chacha without an audition. For this he still thanks Dilip Joshi.
Dilip Joshi struggled a lot in the industry
It is worth noting that Dilip Joshi had struggled a lot in the beginning for work in the film and TV industry. Before Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, he had been without work for about a year and was disappointed and started thinking about changing his work, but after some time he was offered this big show and he said yes.
TMKOC changed the fate of Dilip Joshi
Dilip Joshi says that the show changed his fate. When the producer of this serial Asit Kumar Modi brought the script to him, he was very happy. Dilip Joshi says that now most people know him only by the name of Jethalal. This character has given him a new identity.
