New Delhi. BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh has strongly accused the Congress party of spreading misinformation. He also praised the efforts of the Modi government on national security and social justice, citing the recent caste census notification issued by the Central Government.

Talking to news agency on Tuesday, BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh said on the caste -based census that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a “clear and historic” step by deciding to do it. He insisted that this step would ensure equal representation for backward communities.

He also made a scathing attack on the Congress and called it a factory of fake news. Chugh said, “Congress is constantly spreading lies and its claims are completely false and baseless. PM Modi has clearly stated that caste census will take place with the upcoming census. In the last 11 years, Prime Minister Modi has worked tirelessly for the OBCs, poor and other marginalized sections of society. He has given constitutional status to the OBC Commission, it is a historic achievement.”

He specifically targeted Congress leader Jairam Ramesh and accused him of being adept at spreading fake news. Referring to the Mandal Commission, Chugh reminded that the BJP had supported the implementation of VP Singh government’s reservation. He said, the BJP withdrew support only after stopping our senior leader LK Advani’s Rath Yatra and arresting him.

He also pointed to the contradiction in the Congress’ stance on reservation. He said, “Rahul Gandhi’s father Rajiv Gandhi, speaking in Parliament in 1990, openly opposed reservation for the underprivileged. This is on record and reveals the real face of the Congress.”

Chugh recently condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack and said that Pakistan’s ‘nefarious conspiracy’ to derail peace and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir was crushed through the decisive action of the Indian Army under the ‘Operation Sindoor’. He said that the clear objective of the attack on unarmed citizens was to disrupt peace, development and revival of tourism in the Union Territory.

He said, “Our brave armed forces have demolished terrorist bases and crushed the terrorist network. ‘Operation Sindoor’ has successfully failed Pakistan’s agenda to incite communal violence and destroy the valley.”

Chugh welcomed the reopening of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir and said that this area would soon return to its full pride. He spoke about the preparations for the annual Amarnath Yatra starting from July 3 and said, “The administration is making all necessary arrangements and will ensure the safety of each pilgrim.”
