New Delhi. Team India won by a huge margin of 434 runs in the third match of the 5-match Test series against England in Rajkot on Sunday. This important win not only boosts Team India’s confidence but also propels them further up the ladder in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table. With this win, Team India has reached the second position in the WTC points table, earning 59.52% points. Meanwhile, New Zealand remains at the top position with a commendable 75% win percentage. Australia is at third place with 55% marks. However, England’s troubles continue and they have dropped to eighth place in the points table with 21.87% points.
The defeat against India in the Rajkot Test dealt a blow to England’s WTC points table, leaving them with a loss of 19 points. So far in the current cycle of WTC, Team India has played a total of 7 matches, out of which it has won four matches, lost two and one match has been drawn. Team India’s journey in the WTC started with a successful tour of West Indies, where they won the two-match series 1-0. Next, they played in a 1–1 draw in the two-match series against South Africa. Team India is currently ahead with a 2-1 lead in the ongoing series against England.
