Telecommunications The adjusted gross revenue (AGR) of the companies has increased by 8.24 percent to Rs 2.7 lakh crore in the last financial year 2023-24. The government collects spectrum and license fees on the basis of AGR. The AGR of telecom companies was Rs 2.49 lakh crore in the financial year 2022-23. According to the Performance Indicator Report (2023-24) released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Wednesday, Reliance Jio’s AGR increased by 9.62 percent to the highest of Rs 97.86 thousand crore. It was Rs 89.27 crore last year.

Airtel’s AGR increased by 12.12%

Bharti Airtel’s AGR has increased by 12.12 percent to Rs 80.52 thousand crores. Vodafone Idea (VI)’s AGR was Rs 29,605 crores. Public sector BSNL’s AGR was Rs 8,019 crores, Tata’s AGR was Rs 2,533 crores, MTNL’s AGR was Rs 610 crores and Reliance Communications’ AGR was Rs 185.26 crores.

Government’s revenue share increased to Rs 21,642 crore

The government’s revenue share in the form of licence fee rose 8.45 per cent to Rs 21,642 crore from Rs 19,954 crore. However, collection from spectrum usage charges declined 32.2 per cent to Rs 3,369 crore in FY 2023-24 from Rs 4,968 crore in 2022-23. Bharti Airtel shares on Wednesday closed at Rs 1471.80, up 0.83 per cent or Rs 12.15 on the BSE. Vodafone Idea shares closed at Rs 15.79, up 2 per cent or Rs 0.31.
