Israel-Hezbollah Tension Increased: Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah are constantly increasing. Meanwhile, in view of the increasing tension, India has advised its citizens in Lebanon to be cautious and avoid traveling there. The Indian Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon on Monday advised Indian citizens in the country to be cautious and stay in touch with the Embassy. The Embassy has issued an emergency phone number and an email ID for Indian citizens in Lebanon.

Email ID and phone number issued

The Indian Embassy issued an advisory saying that in view of the recent developments in the region, all Indian citizens living in Lebanon and those planning to travel to Lebanon are advised to exercise caution and remain in touch with the Indian Embassy in Beirut through their email ID cons.beirut@mea.gov.in or emergency phone number +96176860128.

Attacks from both sides

An Israeli drone attack in southern Lebanon on Monday killed two people, according to news agency Reuters. The attack was in retaliation for a rocket attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Saturday that killed 12 teenagers and children. Israel and the US claimed the attack was carried out by Hezbollah.

Hezbollah denied

The US has also said it is in “constant discussions” with its Israeli and Lebanese counterparts following Saturday’s deadly rocket attack that killed at least 12 children playing football in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights. US National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said in a statement on Sunday that the rocket used in the attack belonged to Lebanese Hezbollah and was “launched from territory under their control”. However, Hezbollah has denied this.
